Newly Renovated Cottage Now Open
A visit to the museum reveals the European history of the Prospect area, which dates back to 1788.

The Prospect History Cottage is a local history museum which is open between 11am and 3pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
Entry is a gold coin donation.
Group bookings for morning tea and museum visit are welcome mid week.

Meetings are held on 2nd Sunday (except May, 1st Sunday) at 10.30am followed by morning tea and a guest speaker, visitors welcome.
Our Museum is housed in a c1895 cottage that was built for Reservoir staff to live in. A visit to the museum reveals the European history of the Prospect area, which dates back to 1788. The photographic displays tell the story of local residents such as William Lawson, estates such as Veteran Hall and Greystanes, the building of Prospect Reservoir, local quarrying industry, the local Churches, Inns and Schools. History files available to help with research.
