Did you know that Blacktown City is expected to experience additional 5 to 10 hot days (above 35°C) by 2030?

Planting trees is one way we can help to increase canopy cover and reduce temperatures. Join our free webinar to learn more about the benefits of trees for our community.

There will be a:

fun infrared temperature testing activity to compare shaded and sunny areas
presentation by Dr Sebastian Pfautsch on how trees can cool our homes in Blacktown
If you have specific questions about the potential for planting trees at your place, pre-send them to ourenvironment@blacktown.nsw.gov.au and we will answer them in the webinar!

We are also running a fun quiz competition on trees. Undertaking the quiz allows you to enter a draw to win 1 of 5 ‘pamper your plant’ packs. The packs include a native shrub, a pot, some fertiliser and a pair of gardening gloves. If you attend our webinar, you receive an automatic entry into the competition.

We look forward to seeing you there. The webinar will be held on Zoom and the link to join will be sent closer to the day.

Booking

Please note tickets are limited to ONE per household. This webinar is restricted to those over 16 years of age.

This webinar is for Blacktown City residents ONLY, places are limited and booking is essential. If it is booked out, your name will be put on a waitlist and we will contact you if a spot becomes available. If you are not a resident please do not book.
