The new Get Back on Track Challenge is a series of personal running and walking challenges set across 60km of tracks and trails in Western Sydney Parklands. You can enter by yourself, or with a friend, and you can do them at your own pace, in your own time.

Running from 1 – 31 August, you can choose from six challenges in Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool ranging from 1.6km – 6.7km in distance, with something for all fitness levels and abilities. Run or walk while exploring Sydney’s Biggest Backyard – the choice is yours!

Enter for free to receive a downloadable participant bib and finisher certificate; or choose the paid registration to receive a finisher’s medal, discounted entry into NAB RunWest and the chance to win spot prizes.

Binyang Matta is a Dharug name for Place of Birds. This easy 1.9km loop is perfect for those looking for a short yet rewarding walk or jog. Leave the car at Richmond Road carpark for this looped course returning to the same start location. A well-established habitat for local wildlife, the course passes through grasslands and wetlands where wildflowers bloom and melaleuca and eucalyptus trees tower. The combination of sealed and unsealed surfaces are suitable for walking and running.

This Challenge is the ‘big brother’ of the Binyang Matta Short Loop. Over 6.7km, the path winds its way through grasslands, wetlands, and forests, taking in many spectacular sights in the Northern Parklands, including the Eastern Creek crossings. Keep a look out for black shouldered kites and swift parrots along the way. This sealed pathway is perfect for walking and running.

How to get there:
Both the Binyang Matta Short Trail and Longer Trail start and finish at the Western Sydney Parklands carpark on Richmond Road, Quakers Hill. You can get there by car or public transport. If travelling by public transport, it’s a 10-minute walk from Doonside Station or 10–15 minutes from Quakers Hill Station. Local residents can also walk, run or cycle into the Parklands.
